What we do
Clearing isn't finished when the cutting stops.
Plenty of outfits will knock down what's growing and leave you a field of stumps, ruts and stacked brush. Integrity Tree Specialist finishes the job — because a lot you can't drive on, build on or mow isn't actually cleared.
We handle both ends of this work. The tree crew takes out what's standing, from mature trees down to the sweetgum and briar filling the gaps. Then our Bobcat crew grinds the stumps, hauls the debris off site, fills the holes and grades the ground so it drains and sits level.
Whether it's a quarter-acre backyard that's gone wild or a building lot that has to be ready for a foundation, the goal is the same: you should be able to walk out onto it the day after we leave and know exactly what you've got.

Overgrown yard reclamation
The back third of the garden that disappeared ten years ago. Cut back to your actual property line, cleared to the ground and levelled so grass will grow on it again.
Brush, briar & undergrowth
Greenbrier, poison ivy, privet and whatever else has filled in underneath. Cleared out properly rather than mown over, so it isn't back to waist height by August.
Fence lines & boundaries
Growth cut back off the fence so it can be repaired or replaced, and the line opened up enough that you can see where your property actually ends.
Multi-tree & stump clearing

Hauling, fill & final grade

We walk it with you and mark the line
What comes out, what stays, and where the boundary actually runs — which on an overgrown lot is often not where people think. Anything you want kept gets flagged on the day. We'll also point out anything worth saving that you'd assumed was junk.

Access, protection and a written price
We work out how equipment gets in without tearing up your lawn or drive, lay mats where it needs them, and confirm any utility, easement or wetland considerations. Then you get one price covering the clearing, the hauling and the grade.

Trees down first, then brush and undergrowth, then stumps ground out. Material leaves as we go rather than piling up — nothing gets buried on site, because buried wood is what makes ground sink two years later.

Most clearing jobs end up involving two outfits — a tree crew and then somebody with a machine to deal with what's left. Doing both ourselves means one quote, one schedule, and nobody standing on your lawn explaining that the stumps weren't in their scope.
We run a Bobcat T595 compact track loader: 74 hp, 2,200 lb rated lift, and narrow enough at 68 inches to fit through a standard gate. It tracks at around 5 psi, so it treads far lighter on turf than a wheeled machine, and we've more than fifty attachments approved for it. Our crew is fully insured — liability and workers' compensation both — with the certificate available before we start.

Common questions
Before you book a clearing job
How much does land clearing cost?
It comes down to density, tree size, access and how finished you want the ground left. A quarter-acre of light brush and saplings is a very different number from mature trees with stumps out and the lot graded to a building pad. That's why the site visit is free — an estimate given over the phone for clearing work is close to a guess.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends on where you are and what you're clearing. Rules differ by city, and this region has some specific ones — Chesapeake Bay Preservation Areas, resource protection buffers along waterways, and wetlands can all restrict clearing even on land you own outright. HOAs and conservation easements add their own layers. We'll flag anything we notice during the site visit, but confirming with your city's planning department is the property owner's responsibility, and it's worth doing before the machines are booked.
Will you leave the stumps?
Only if you want us to. Grinding them out below grade is standard on any lot that's going to be built on, mowed or fenced, and we haul the grindings off rather than burying them — buried wood rots and the ground sinks in a couple of seasons. On a rough back section where nothing's planned, leaving them cut flush is cheaper and perfectly fine.
Can you save some of the trees?
Yes, and we'll usually suggest it. Mature hardwoods are worth real money to a property and take decades to replace, so it's worth deciding deliberately rather than clearing everything by default. On a build site we'll also tell you which trees are likely to survive construction and which won't — root damage from trenching and grade changes kills a lot of trees that were left standing on purpose.
Will the machines wreck my lawn?
The track loader spreads its weight at around 5 psi, which is gentler on turf than most wheeled equipment, and we lay mats on the access route where the ground is soft or the drive needs protecting. On wet Hampton Roads clay some marking is realistic on a big job — where that happens, repairing it is part of the price, not an extra.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Integrity Tree Specialist carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we'll provide a certificate of insurance on request before work begins. Ask any company running heavy equipment on your property for theirs — if it doesn't arrive, that's your answer.
